According to the level of each school involved (Primary level, Lower secondary level and Upper secondary level), school partners have produced different modules addressed to specific target group.
The main subject areas have been identified through the results of the training process will be in common where each school divided per level will start to develop its VLM products. The three topics are as follows:
Starting from March 2019, teachers from each school have designed the second teaching unit about Social Media. The aims to introduce the role of Social Media: what they are, how they work and different types of social media, the social functions of media, positive functions and effects of social media as new means of communication and marketing, the Social Media Marketing, negative functions and effects of social media, the language of Smartphone, smartphone addiction, videogames addiction, “vamping” and “FOMO” effects and cause.
TEACHING UNIT 2 about UNDERSTANING MEDIA:
During the development of the second teaching unit , students have been involved in the following activities:
– Creation of a story about Social Media – in English and in national language
– Digital narrative activity – a digital tool to tell the story or create a hypertext starting from one of the images of the boys texts, videos, etc. Ex. THINGLINK
– Creation of a graphic and artistic product, to show during the mobility in Romania on UNDERSTANING MEDIA – an innovative product (.i.e. theatre performance, illustrated story of empathy, video)
– Edmodo activity: “Let’s reflect about social media and about their positive and negative effects on our lives. Give your opinion by sharing your ideas through an image, a quotation, a song, a poem, a photo, a video or any other means you prefer. Explain in a few words the message you want to convey”.
